Review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) by Christian H — 05 Jul 2015
Captain America The Winter Soldier is probably the best film in phase 2 of Marvels Cinematic Universe (so far!).
The film showed how to make a character go from being boring to a complete badass.
With excellent direction from the Russo brothers, a good script and exceptional performances from the cast (which were very well chosen). The story itself though was very good, dark and (spoiler alert) a plot twist that worked really well, rather than other films like Iron Man 3 which didn't work and didn't make much sense!
The music (composed by Henry Jackman) was a bit of a surprise at how well suited it was to this character. It was better to listen to than Alan Silverti composition! The Winter Soldier, however, was probably the best villain we've since Doc Ock (Spider-Man 2). He was very deadly and very mensing to watch on the big screen. As far as I see it, there weren't any issues with the film. This is the best way to make a comeback from the rather disappointing Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World (which wasn't that bad).
Next stop Guardians of the Galaxy.
