Although it keeps to the tried and true Marvel formula of one liners and big action, this movie marks a departure in tone from its predecessors. Where Iron Man 3 looked at the psychological impacts of the events that took place in The Avengers, The Winter Soldier deals with the political fallout.
It's this story that shows maybe everything won't be sunshine and rainbows in the MCU from here on out.
