Review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) by Kyle C — 26 Jul 2015
OK, I'm not going to lie, some of this is pretty awesome, a few of the fight scenes and action/flying scenes look pretty amazing. The acting is good for this type of movie and the characters are all likeable and watchable, but, are awesome scenes enough to save a movie that to me, has little to no story.
And the villain, the guy who the movie is titled after, has zero introduction, he just shows up one scene and starts causing havoc, a little more intro for him and he may have been a little more interesting.
The one thing I will give credit too is Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, she is very good as this character and I think she should get her own spin-off movie. Back to the story, it is very political and slow moving for me, there isn't really any interesting dialogue between the characters, so I guess it's a split decision because parts of it are very good, and the rest of it is just kind of lackluster.
I myself give it a MILD RECOMMENDATION but for people who liked the first one and who like most or all of the other Marvel movies, I guess I can RECOMMEND it for them.
