Review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) by Jillian S — 10 Jun 2015

I believe this is the first Marvel film to fully stand on its own along side with the 1st Iron Man film. it sets up its own world within the film and plays out like a classic spy, espionage, thriller that is a standout among the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

this film pits Cap against not only a dangerous enemy, but himself and society and we see him for the first time not as this super-human hero but just a human. and to that I have to give credit to the directors, the Russo Brothers for that.

the first grounded in reality Marvel films and wow does it pay off. a political, sophisticated, strong entry in the MCU and just an all around amazing film. a must see whether or not you're already pulled into the Marvel Universe.
