Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Pierre G — 30 May 2018
The first half is a very decent origin story. Chris Evans did a fine job given some bland dialogue he was given. Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, no surprise, was wonderful.....I would have liked more plot around this character.
The middle action sequences were run of the mill filler material which did nothing to build suspense. Despite the all too familiar storytelling, it was still a good movie, but not nearly as good as (his Avenger counterparts) Iron Man or Thor.
