Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Paula K — 22 Jan 2014
I went into this one thinking that the CGI version of Chris Evans with the emaciated body before the experiment looked a little too silly to be taken seriously. Having watched (and *really* liked) the film, I have to say that I still think it looks *a bit* silly, but it's forgivable in the grand scheme of the overall spectacle, and I really dug Steve Rogers' journey from patriotic joke to heroic figure when he takes matters into his own hands.
Evans really sells the character and I'm looking forward to giving it another peep eventually before it's time to go and see The Avengers in the summer of 2012.
Recommended.
