Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Daniel Y — 10 Jun 2016

The First Avenger is a good origin story and a successful introduction to Captain America and all in all a fun and enjoyable movie that contains plenty of pulpy action and a retro vibe. It's clear that this was just intended to be a love letter to the early golden years of Marvel's Captain America, but luckily with the help of good performances and director Joe Johnston, who can make the time period look great as in The Rocketeer, they're able to make it work and enjoyable.
