Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Anzaan A — 18 Nov 2017
As much as I love the character of Captain America I didn't know if it would ever translate to film. My love of the character has always been a mystery, even to me, I don't really care for Superman, but love Cap, don't ask me, I know they are similar characters in the way they look at the world and how honestly corny they can be at times.
Cap has always just resonated more with more some reason. I had doubts the hokey Cap character would work at all in a movie, but did a pretty great job of grounding it just enough to not take away from awesome cheesiness of Cap, but to make it seem almost possible for someone like him to exist, at least in the MCU.
Great job by Chris Evans, and some really nice side character performances as well. The set up for what has been overall the best film series in MCU, especially after to two missteps with the Ironman franchise after that first amazing Ironman movie.
This movie will always be a little special to me just because someone finally got Cap right on the small and/or big screen.
