Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Turner E — 08 May 2014
The final step to The Avengers (2012). After the genious, witty inventions of multimillionare Tony Stark and the incredible strenght of The God of Thunder Thor, the viewers have grown tired to see Second-World War battles and a superhero who has no "special" powers at all rather than an extraordinary shield.
Anyway, this film offers fun and clichés at the same time, though it contributes to the Marvel cannon by incorporating a more human character, a "kid from Brooklyn" who after spending all his life being a looser has the opportunity to kick some Nazi asses and to be honoured (the American Dream?).
Inevitably it has some sort of connection with Iron Man (Howard Stark is almost everywhere here, and is just as joker and sex-addicted as his son) and Thor (The Theseract and Odin's legend), but in the end it serves perfectly as the final installment previous to The Avengers.
