Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Bullymaguire — 02 Dec 2021
When I first watched this movie I actually hated this movie as I thought it was very bland and just overall bad. But upon rewatching it the movie has aged pretty good as it is a movie that has been made better and more relevant with the release of movies such as The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame.
The first 75 minutes of the movie are fantastic as Chris Evans did a great job as Captain America but it does a great job really developing Steve Rogers as a character. And the ending where he was like "I had a date" was fantastic and is one of the best endings in the MCU.
It was sad and very emotional. The fight scenes in this movie are not great but are still pretty good and fun to watch. Now red Skull was kind of a meh villain Hugo Weaving did do a great job but the Red Skull was just ok.
And when Steve sacrificed himself at the end It was very powerful and again was made better in Endgame. Captain America is one of my favorite Marvel heroes and I really enjoyed this movie.
