Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Cole S — 11 Aug 2017
One of my favorite OG Marvel movies of all time. I love movies, especially superhero movies, that take place in the far past (especially during a time of war).
Steve Rogers was born a fighter despite his disability of not being much of a "man". After several attempts to enlist into the army during WWII he is finally given a chance and is made an initial test subject in the "super-soldier" program. Given super strength and transformed into an advanced soldier, Steve is sent out as a performer to help promote war bonds (he ain't liking it). After a "performance" at a base he overhears that a unit consisting of his childhood friend James "Bucky" Barnes is MIA while attempting to attack Schmidt's forces (Hydra). Steve Rogers, deemed the name Captain America, goes to rescue the unit and creates a team of soldiers to destroy Hydra bases and The Red Skull.
Chris Evans is the best Captain America by a long shot, I can't think of anyone who can top him.
Let's keep these movies going haha.
The end scene is Nick Fury giving Steve Rogers an assignment that has worldwide ramifications.
Stan Lee plays an army officer waiting for Captain America to give a performance.
Stone tracker: The Tesseract (Space Stone) is used by Red Skull and Hydra and is later taken down with Captain America in the bottom of the ocean, later to be "dug up".
