Captain America: The First Avenger is an absolutely entertaining and worth-watching film. I have never been a big fan of this character, mostly because he seems so dry and too boy-scoutish. But Chris Evans, who play Johnny Storm to perfection in the terrible Fantastic Four films, brings a lot of life to this character.

And its the likability of the hero that keeps your interest. I love the World War II setting, and the gritty war blended with the comic-book style direction is perfectly balanced. The supporting cast is also great, with Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, and Sebastian Stan all turning in solid performances.

The problem with the film, and this may sound odd, but the film is at its best before Steve Rogers becomes a superhero. After the event happens, there is some corny dialogue and the tone becomes a little more campy, and the action is a bit of a bore.

Overall, The First Avenger is a solid comic book film and shakes things up for the Marvel Universe.
