Review of Capote (2005) by Amyr. — 11 Apr 2006
Now this film deserved the Oscar! Wow, fabulous performances, engrossing script, entirely atmospheric film. Transports you to the 1950's cultural divide between NYC and rural America, and you understand how so many people just had no way to be themselves in our society.
It's heartbreaking and utterly fascinating watching Truman Capote's journey into himself and his character. This is a character study to beat all, and PSH is utterly astounding. The supporting performances are exquisite, too.
