Review of Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) by James S — 15 Jun 2010
Simply speaking, Michael Moore's most important film to date. While its not his best film (that would be Bowling for Columbine). As a film, its right on par with the rest of his other work (except Farenheit 9/11, which was simply a hit piece on George Bush and had no real message).
However, this is not the place to discuss the politics of what he's saying, simply the place to discuss the quality of the film. And it IS a good film, well made and well edited. But Moore still raises a big problem, without providing any solutions.
Nothing revolutionary or new there. So, I recommend it on those grounds. On the grounds of being an American, I think Moore's films should be on a Required Watch list, because even if you don't always agree, his films prompt discussions that we need to have, yet seem to be more keen to ignore and hope they go away.
