Review of Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) by Leonardo A — 28 Jun 2010
Shoddy documentary filmmaking at it's most blatant. While the movie did make me laugh a few times at the sheer ridiculous bits that they cut in, it in no way enlightened me nor did it motivate me to change things.
Michael Moore has become a parody of his former self, and when he refuses to take anything seriously, I have a hard time taking his agenda seriously. The people who find MM's diatribe "hard-hitting", "profound", or "thought provoking" are the same mindless masses that Moore insinuates the media is brain-washing.
Moore merely takes something that is widely known as a problem, exploits it for laughs and deceivingly edited sound-bites, and offers no real solution to the problem. In the end, he is just as clueless as the politicians are.
When he finally offers a viable solution, then maybe he will actually make a difference.
