Review of Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) by Jacob S — 22 Oct 2010
Though some things that people have said about this movie are somewhat true I still loved this film. Michael Moore manages to show us how corrupt our society has become today, in a really intelligent and engaging way.
I learned so many shocking things that I had no idea about. Though he did only blame the banks and not the stupid people who knew they couldn't afford to buy a house it really is the banks fault if you think about it, they knew that these people couldn't afford to pay the mortgages yet they still gave it to them.
The whole Dead Peasant policy was really hard to swallow and the fact that it's legal too is shocking. It's sad to see that there are only a few people with brains in congress and who actually care about the American people.
I think some critics and people are getting the wrong message from this movie Michael Moore is not attacking capitalism, he is also not suggesting that we turn to socialism he is just showing us what happens in capitalism when people give into greed, that devastating affect it has on all of us.
The thing I also love about Michael Moore is that he manages to make some of the best and entertaining documentaries ever. He mixes humor with sad stories from poor victims really well and the outcome is great.
Overall a great film that is a bit one sided but it is a must see. 3.5/4 stars.
