Review of Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) by Jason J — 03 Dec 2010
The latest movie by controversial director Michael Moore is not saying that capitalism is bad, it is saying that it needs to be reworked before our greed truly gets the better of us and we find ourselves sinking into an even greater financial abyss.
This may very well be Moore's most instantly accessible film, perhaps more than "Sicko". Everybody has been affected by the current financial mess, and how it seems that rich people in suits get even richer off of the misery of the poor- and working-class people who are being made to suffer the worst because of the financial fallout.
I've always been a fan of Moore and like that he challenges authority, questions assumptions, and champions American values. This movie is a glaring wake-up call, not just to Americans but everybody around the world who are fed-up with being trampled by the cruel excesses, of our capitalist system.
After seeing this movie, viewers may be inspired to fight for their rights against the oppressive corporations and the profit-mad banks.
