Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Josh D — 10 Apr 2009
It starts out as a lame copy of the original, but then 2/3's of the way through Scorsese made it his own and added his own suspenseful and exciting climax. This is one of the rare remakes that are well done. It respects the original, but expands the ideas and explores new things.
It also has some nice cameos from the original that play roles in this version. Overall, this remake gets some great performances from Nick Nolte and Robert De Niro to make a terrifying thriller.
