Review of Cape Fear (1991) by George E — 08 Nov 2009
Nick Colte should've been the bad guy. He looks more scary than Robert De Niro. This wasn't actually the problem of this film (De Niro was actually good), though.
Anyway, It really started out quite friggin' well, but then it was just went tumbling down -- It got boring, stupid, far-fetched and suspense died out. Also, what was the point of the scene where his wife thinks he cheated on her? Very stupid and pointless. And the ending was overdone with the intensity (not violence actually, but the whole screaming, do this or that, forcing stuff, etc -- overdone). It really should've ended in the house, not the boat.
But since I love thrillers so much, I'd have to give it a 3. It really does deliver some good suspense.
