An average remake and an odd choice for scorsese. I was a bit skeptical about De Niro replacing Mitchum, but he did a great job, as did Juliette Lewis. I didn't care very much for Nick Nolte though, something about him just didn't work.
at first I thought the music was great but then I realized that it was because it was the same that was in the original, guess it doesn't get much better than Bernard Herrmann. there ware some lame camera techniques used at the end which seemed amateurish and tong-in-cheek.
check it out but if you really want a good movie, see the origional.
