Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Justin V — 26 Dec 2010
Good movie with solid storytelling, good acting and but most of the film is overacting and over exaggerating, its a fun film to watch and De Niro's performance is one of his best... up until the end.
The characters are somewhat memorable and likable but the most interesting and disturbing character is Max played by Robert De Niro as he plays a very crafty preachy southern ex-con who starts to haunt his former lawyer's family, he is creative and clever but by the end he is a standard villain.
The story is straight forward and done very well but some plot holes are left unanswered. The cinematography is good too but there are a ton of close ups that are really unnecessary. Overall, its a fun film to watch and I enjoyed it very much.
