Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Fraser M — 13 Apr 2011
Probably one of the most gruesome and disturbing of Scorsese films as the characters receiving violence are not gangsters but ordinary people mostly. It has many interesting scenes and jump cuts. Despite its characters considered as unlikeable this doesn't matter as they reflect ourselves and make us think rather than us just for the period of the film rooting for them, which suits the film and its point.
A thrilling film that shocks you, keeps you watching to see what happens, thinking, and gets that reaction that they look for you to get simply.
