Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Matt F — 03 Jun 2011
De Niro is certifiably creepy in the lead role here, and Martin Scorsese returns to a more mainstream feel with "Cape Fear". His thank-you project to Universal for having backed his more controversial "Last Temptation of Christ", a very young Juliette Lewis steals the show as the troubled teenage daughter of two endlessly bickering parents.
The movie goes on for about a half-hour too long (this is also when the movie falls apart somewhat), but overall, a terrific pop creeper from team Scrosese and De Niro.
