Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Tom S — 01 Jan 2012
Cape Fear was good, but I liked it more for the acting rather than the story. Robert De Niro definitely deserved the Oscar nomination in 1992 for Best Actor in a Leading Role, because his performance was excellent. I loved his accent and his bad-ass attitude. Juliette Lewis played her role well too.
The story is good, but not very thrilling and sometimes a little slow. The soundtrack however, is very gripping and outstanding.
I also loved the showdown on the boat. The storm and how the boat rocked in the water was well done. The ending on the other hand was quite weird and I didn't like it that much, especially how Danielle says "the end".
