Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Harry W — 25 May 2012
Martin Scorsese had some massive shoes to step into to remake such a classic horror film, and it turns into one of the greatest remakes of all time. Robert De Niro's insane and excellent portrayal of the classic villain Max Cady is even better than Robert Mitchum's original peformance because its just so much more shocking this time around.
Nick Nolte doesn't beat Gregory Peck, but he still did an excellent job. And Juliette Lewis? Since her character became more of a main in this film her events just become even more important to the story.
The music and cinematography are beautiful and used very well in this film. Kickass!
