Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Matthew A — 08 Jun 2012
Director Martin Scorsese began his slow decline with this adaption of the 1962 b-movie. What started out as an intriguing psychological shocker abruptly disintegrates into a repulsive, modern-day, horror movie lacking any complexity or resonance whatsoever.
The picture's saving grace is its cast, which give excellent performances.
