Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Matheus C — 15 Feb 2014
One of the few "remakes" that works, Scorsese reinvents and updates the story while still staying true to it. Many of the scenes are shot frame-for-frame from the original, and the music is an update of Bernard Herrman's original score (not a bad guy to improve).
There are so many things going right in this, it is hard to say what stands out although I confess a weakness for the scene where Cady is attacked in the alleyway.
