Review of Can't Buy Me Love (1987) by Jonathan B — 26 Feb 2013
You cant go wrong with this 80's teen comedy enjoyable but a little formula driven with many cliches but who cares. Patrick Dempsey better know for his role on Greys Anatomy today played many geeks this one was the highlight role for him in the 80's.
He plays Ronald Miller a geek who lives next door to Cindy Mancini played by Amanda Peterson whom hes had a crush on for a while except she doesnt even know he exists until he asks her if he can rent her to be popular she agrees after ruining her moms suede outfit.
The film as with many teen movies has a corny moral message at the end that being yourself matters more than being popular (ohh if that were true).
