Review of Can't Buy Me Love (1987) by Michael H — 30 May 2013
Cant Buy Me Love has a interesting act structure. Act I is where Ronald pays Cindy to be his girlfriend to get popularity. They become very close. But in Act II, Ronald has changed alot and Cindy gives everyone the truth about Ronald. The hard to watch Act III finds Ronald trying to get back his credibility. Classic act structure for a movie that works. Some of of the actors I found miscast like Directer Dennis Dugan as Ronalds dad. The third act feels like its own film. It feels like it takes 2 hours for this movie to end. But even though it feels overlong, it is a good film.
83/100 B.
