Review of Cannibal Holocaust (1980) by Nigel M — 09 Dec 2008
Not a movie to be taken lightly nor approached in a lighthearted way Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust is probably one of the most shocking and brutal movie of its kind and features a number of scenes of truly sickening animal cruelty. While in truth this is all exploitation fare aside from the somewhat cheesy "who are the real cannibals?" refrain the movie does have something to say about the whole mondo craze by a self confessed diciple of the genre godfather Jacopeti.
While it is pretty much impossible to recommend as such those who have seen this will know that it is a movie who's impact is unforgetable but be warned there are moments which cannot be unseen nor easily forgotten once viewed and it is a movie that may stay with you for a very long time. Caution advised.
