I remember seeing cannibal holocaust the first time and not being able to sleep for about 3 days. especially the killing of the giant tortoise just wouldn't slip from my mind. the crass contrast between this beautiful soundtrack by riz ortolani and these crazy jaw-dropping images.
it most certainly did it's job.
