This is, as many people have already stated, an exploitation film for the sake of exploitation. Personally I didn't find the animal killings nor the depiction of cannibalism disturbing at all. This was a movie I had to watch because of all the hype, and thats exactly what it is, a hype.
The concept of the movie is very intriguing, but a bad script combined with bad acting and the force feeding of the "moral" of the story made this a somewhat boring movie to watch. If you haven't watched it yet, I wouldn't put you off watching it, since it has a good historical background of being one of the most gruesome movies, especially at the time of it's origin.
This movie is for people who just want to see something crazy and don't care too much about characters nor story. 2 stars from me.
