Review of Cannibal Holocaust (1980) by James C — 23 Dec 2011
Not really a review but comment from me:
One of the more truly disturbing movies I have ever seen. Despite the controversy and tension on the set while filming the movie it took a lot of brass balls to even attempt it from the realism of footage (Blair Witch cant touch this) down to the killing of live animals throughout it.
Basically, I had watched this out of curiosity and some of my friends who are horror buffs said it was a must see. Technically they were right, but I also find in this day and age that I find it very difficult to watch women being raped whether its acting or not. But in the end the movie serves its purpose, to shock and appall its viewer and too hold up the debate as too who are the bigger savages. The cannibals or the individuals who took part in not only making the film but the actions of the characters that landed them on the menu.
