Review of Cannibal Holocaust (1980) by Daniel P — 18 Jan 2012
Cannibal Holocaust is a masterpiece. Never have I watched a movie that was repulsive yet subtly poignant. It was way before it's time. Blair witch even ripped some elements off of it. This movie completely captures the media induced stupor that was 30 years in the making.
You can see shots at reality TV in this movie, and it had not even been conceptualized yet. The things that were done in this movie could not happen today, and that is a shame in the fact that if there was ever a time when a movie like this was relevant, it is upon us.
