Review of Cannibal Holocaust (1980) by Westchester M — 12 Oct 2012
I feel like everyone either loves this movie or hates it. I am the middle ground. It's a really cool concept that was marketed and executed in the most gruesome and desolate fashion possible. There are drawn out scenes that are nearly unwatchable.
Lack of clarity as far as goal and purpose is what makes this film and the way it was promoted throttle the border of genius territory. It's a challenging, gruesome, film. If you're not ready for that, I have to wonder why you are watching a movie called Cannibal Holocaust to begin with.
