Review of Cannibal Ferox (1981) by Colin E — 26 Jun 2007
I enjoyed it much more than I enjoyed "Cannibal Holocaust." When you regard the fact that this movie isn't exactly trying to tell a cohesive and complicated story, and the actors aren't required to do anything but emote when precious body parts (and I do mean precious) hit the dirt.
..you finally enjoy it for what it is: straight-up, down and dirty, early 1980's grindhouse fodder. A lot of the films who try to look "documentary style" rip it off from this film. Holocaust was first, but it pales in comparison to Ferox.
Again, check your brain at the door, and try to enjoy it - emphasis on try.
