Review of Cannibal Ferox (1981) by Kyle L — 12 Apr 2012

Graphic, vile, disgusting and gory as well Cannibal Ferox is another successful Cannibal movie along with Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust. Cannibal Ferox is just as good as Cannibal Holocaust but this film is not as graphic or gory as Cannibal Holocaust but it's still a disturbing, graphic, gory and nasty exploitation film. The plot of this film shares similarities to Cannibal Holocaust and it is also a rehash of Cannibal Holocaust with the same kind of theme and violence as well. This movie is about three friends who are traveling in the jungle to explore the world of Cannibalism where they encounter two men who are tortured and enslaved because they try to find some emerald in the jungle and soon the Cannibal tribe is out to seek revenge. To say this I also enjoy Cannibal Ferox. If I personally like Cannibal Holocaust then I also like Cannibal Ferox as well. I seriously think that this was just as good as Cannibal Holocaust but I still think that Cannibal Holocaust is still the best Cannibal movie so mainly this is the third best video nasty while the first video nasty film is Evil Dead and second Cannibal Holocaust third this movie. What I like about Cannibal Ferox is that this film is not only a Horror movie but more of an exploitation movie as well. This film is seriously vile and disgusting. Everything about Cannibal Ferox is nice and I seriously enjoy the gore and graphic violence in this movie. What I personally enjoy about Cannibal Ferox is that the movie has a lot of graphic and gory violence that are really hard to watch and all of the violence in this movie is hard to watch and overwhelming as well like Cannibal Holocaust's violence and this movie does a unique job to become a successful Cannibal film. This movie also has the same kind of animal cruelty themes like Cannibal Holocaust's animal cruelty themes because there are certain scenes in the film that depicts animal cruelty like the stabbing of the pig with a knife. The snake eating an iguana. The snake eating a big musk rat. The killing of a butterfly and after killing the butterfly the person eats the parts of the butterfly and most of all the butchering of the turtle just like in Cannibal Holocaust. All of the animal cruelty in this movie is similar to Cannibal Holocaust's animal cruelty because in Cannibal Holocaust in my review there were animal cruelty scenes in that film like the killing of the muskrat. The butchering and slaughtering of the turtle. The killing of the snake. The killing of the tarantula and the slaughtering of the monkey. What I also like about Cannibal Ferox is that the movie has a lot of disturbing, graphic and gory violent scenes. The scene where Mike gets the top of his head chopped of is a really graphic and disgusting scene. The scene where Rudy gets his knee eaten by Piranhas was a really disgusting scene because of how graphic and disturbing that scene looks like and I think that was also the most disgusting scene in the movie while the other scenes are really overwhelming and disgusting as well. The acting is great all of the casts seriously did a good job with their performances in the film especially Robert Kerman who played as an anthropologist in Cannibal Holocaust since he was good with his performance in Cannibal Holocaust he was also good with his performance in Cannibal Ferox this time as a lieutenant instead of an anthropologist. Writer and Director Umberto Lenzi did a good job with his work on this movie and he seriously knows what he's doing when he made this movie and he followed the footsteps of Ruggero Deodato when he made this movie so far and I'm seriously proud with his work so far when he wrote and directed this movie. Overall Cannibal Ferox gets a 10/10 because this movie is vile, disgusting, graphic, gory and overwhelming and it may not be as good as Cannibal Holocaust but it's still a good video nasty film.
