Hardly a original or the most remarkable film, but it works well. Director.

Bernard Rose adapted Clive Barker's short story (The Forbidden) into this horror tale that involves an urban legend.

The movie follows Helen Lyle (Virginia Madden), a graduate researcher at the university of Illinois as she works on her latest thesis on urban legends. After hearing stories about the myth of The Candyman (Tony Hodd) --Candyman is... According to the movie, a powerful supernatural being who haunts a housing complex of the Cabrini Green on Chicago's North side - she and her friend Bernadette Walsh (Kasi Lemmons) decide to investigate the myth more. According to the legend, if you stare at a mirror recite the "word" Candyman five times and turn off the lights you be calling him and then he be coming for you. Sillily, that's what Helen did and didn't work... Or did it?

"Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman...!?".

Late spring 2006, that's when I first watched this film and gave it a thumbs down; 2/5stars because the film is bloody and frail but it was mostly all the bees' scenes that turned gross. Come on I was about nine years old so you can't blame me. Now this is a sullen atmospheric films that has a dark, good performance by Tony Hodd.

Just my only thing I almost forgot to say is it takes place in New York while the Forbidden in England and oh, you'll only not like this film because of bee's maybe. 5/25/2014.
