Review of Candy. (2010) by Lea O — 12 Apr 2008
Rather haunting given Ledger's passing and the subject matter, Candy feels like Requiem for a Dream only set in Australia and it didn't make me feel the need to take a four hour shower after viewing.
It's well-shot and acted, Ledger and Cornish playing young kids wild at heart who fall in and out of love with one another through the course of their mutual heroin addiction. Of special note is a brief but humorous supporting turn from Geoffrey Rush as a chemistry professor/drug dealer.
