Review of Candy (2006) by Tyler D — 10 Jan 2011
Candy is a tender love story about two drug addicts. It will immediately draw comparisons with Requiem For a Dream for its emotionally powerful portrayal of addicts. The film is quite draining, quite like Requiem For a Dream and is aided by strong performances by Ledger and Cornish.
The film is quite intense, gritty and frightening at times and leaves a lasting impact long after it's over. A standout film in Australian cinema.
