Review of Canada Russia '72 (2006) by Zac H — 10 Jul 2007
This film does an amazing job of capturing the trials and tribulations of the team and the nation during the Summit Series. Some of the stuff that is external to the hockey seems a little tacked on, ie.
the man being kidnapped, but these moments are few and far between. Alan Eagleson and Ken Dryden are represented perfectly, Eagleson in all his slimy-ness, and Dryden in his quiet introspective way, all through the movie working on his book 'The Game.
' A must see for hockey fans, and definitely worth a look for any Canadian wanting to relive one of the nation's proudest moments. As an added bonus, it has a fantastic soundtrack from some of Canada's best artists of the day.
