Review of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010) by Amber J. S — 17 Sep 2010
Well, I saw the first Camp Rock and I thought it was absolutely terrible in every way possible! I have no idea why I gave this one a shot; to be frank, I expected it to be much worse after the flop of the first movie and because sequels are usually worse than the original movie.
The characters have changed in many ways and obviously they grew up - it is obvious that the actors took acting classes because I liked their performances better in this movie. Most of the songs are much better than the first one and are more catchy; even the choreography was much more energetic.
The passion the campers showed for their camp in this movie was very plausible, even Tess (Meaghan Jette Martin) didn't return to being the mean girl at the beginning of the movie (like Ashley Tisdale in HSM as Sharpay; she just became mean again in HSM 2 which didn't make sense).
However, I didn't enjoy The Jonas Brothers' performances and Demi's character, Mitchie, was much more uptight in this movie and it didn't make sense to me that she used to be this quiet, shy girl and all of a sudden she's literally running the camp!
I wouldn't really recommend for a third movie to come out, but I have a feeling that would even be better than this one.
