Review of Camera (2000) by Matthew C — 21 Jan 2008
Brilliant short film which brings the Beckett out of Cronenberg and makes many of the underlying themes to the latter's work an integral part of the art of cinema. A study of the face of an ageing actor, a witty meta-film, an existential melodrama.
Also sign-posts the three films to come, his concern with an objective rather than subjective point of view - both of which vie for attention in this.
