Review of Calvary (2014) by Hazel H — 02 May 2014
Not sure if I was just dazzled by Gleeson's acting, charisma and general presence but an extraordinary indie film. Priest and the Magdelene sisters were probably more effective and films where all characters could shine but a brave attempt at picking at the putrid scab of charlatan catholic priests and paedophilia.
Sadly Chris O'Dowd needs to work on those acting chops if he is to pull off a more nuanced performances a bit of miscasting there.
