Review of Calvary (2014) by Colin C — 05 Sep 2014
What an interesting film this was. Led by an Oscar-worthy performance by Brendan Gleeson, Calvary focuses on Father James who is a good priest and because he is a good priest he is faced with something sinister and evil happening to him a the end of the week.
While he is faced with the hanging pall of his own Calvary he comforts his suicidal daughter and other members of parish. Definitely worth a look. The film is touching, poignant, funny and a nice little thriller.
