Review of Calvary (2014) by Marylou H — 02 Feb 2015
A deep dark move, leavened with a sprinkling of humor. This is a symbolic Christ film where the good priest is not tempted by others, but insulted and belittled by them. It is a film that does not ask "how far from god are we" but yells "we are miles away.
" It shows the weak influence religion has on our society, and laments it. While a trifle heavy handed and predicable, it has resonance.
