Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Lisa B — 04 Mar 2018
Although there are moments of reflection in this film that border on boredom, there are also scenes of quiet brilliance. Particularly strong is a scene near the end of the movie involving the character played by Oscar nominee Timothee Chalamet and his father, the underapreciated Michael Stuhlbarg.
This movie isn't about homosexuality, it's about love in many forms. It looks beautiful, it's beautifully acted, and overall it's a terrific film.
