Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Andy S — 28 Jan 2018
This movie - for more of a better word - changed my life. It's a "gay" movie without being a "gay" movie. You could easily switch the sex of any of the lead characters - keep the script for the most part and it would be the same film.
It is a LOVE STORY first and foremost. It is very raw - emotional & realistic. There is no lingering regret or bad guy - or disproving world. This movie is BEAUTIFUL.
Timothée Chalamet & Armie Hammer have some of the best chemistry (if you didn't think so then youtube some of their interviews as I did after I viewed the film - they are hilarious).
Both actors give AMAZING performances, this film will be just the beginning of their careers. Armie Hammer has made movies before but I feel this is the push he needs to start making more amazing & well thought out film.
