A film that knows how to deal with love, loss, encounters and solitude, in a light way, without being forced, with a very good direction, great performances but an excess of contemplation that ends up weighing in the rhythm of the long.

The main highlight of the script is not the story itself, quite the contrary, the film's plot is even common, a couple who falls in love in the summer, the film's main highlight is present in the character construction, especially in the character of Elio , his sexuality is practically constructed from scratch, just like his experiences, challenges and discoveries, and unlike most of the films that expose this subject always forcing an extreme sexualization, here we do not see here the awakening of desire until the final act, in a very playful and beautiful way, and his romantic pair, Oliver, is also a very well worked character, even if the same is not built from scratch, we still have the negation and the discovery around Oliver always.

A good part of the film is that it does not force itself to touch on social issues, or discuss this or that, the film simply is what it is, and it brings an incredible naturalness and beauty to the work.

With a soundtrack ruled by classical music, we have many symphonies already known by moviegoers, and even sometimes getting strange in some moments of the film, in the general context it is beautiful, especially when some tone is used acutely in a certain scene, scaring the viewer and character, it's as if the movie sometimes screams, "Hey, do not sleep, look at me," and the film needs it, especially because of its slow pace, which seeks an exploration of the Italian landscapes, after half an hour nausea, the film could easily take about 20 minutes less.

Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer are great, the two actors have incredible chemistry, and a sexual tension that permeates both from beginning to end, both actors make a brilliant performance. A film that knows how to talk about discovery, a film that builds characters and then breaks them, as it happens in our lives, construction, victory and failure, a personification of our day day in a playful but visceral, passionate and grotesque, passionate and devastating way , although the film still has problems of rhythm and sound, is still a great film.
