Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Jason W — 31 May 2018
A elegantly told coming of age story of a young boy's experiences with first love. To say Chalamet is a promising young star would be a dramatic understatement as he delivers an incredibly mature and strong performance in such a challenging role.
The plot can be a little slow paced, with many scenes felling unnecessary however, at its heart, Luca Guadagnino produces a heart-wrenching, stunning film that manages to encapture the beauty and pain of love, in amidst of an hot and vivid exotic setting in Italy which gives the film a rather foreign tint that for me at least, adds a nice touch.
